Vegas Metal Finishing Terms and Conditions
The National Association of Surface Finishers aims to reaffirm the established norms of the metal finishing industry concerning material processing. Despite the application of modern scientific methods, contemporary processes, and skilled individuals with extensive training and expertise, it is widely acknowledged that hazards persist in the fields of electroplating, anodizing, and metal finishing. These practices have been formalized and unanimously embraced by the members of this Association and Vegas Metal Finishing (VMF). Consequently, to prevent any misinterpretations, the following terms and conditions are explicitly outlined for the acceptance of materials for processing.
1. Material Acceptance for Anodizing:
- Materials must meet VMF specs (clean, no steel, size limits: 6' x 2' x 3').
- Non-compliance may incur extra fees for cleaning to maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
- Parts must be disassembled before submission; VMF does not disassemble or assume responsibility.
- Clients must accurately declare material type, tolerances, and specifications in writing before anodizing. Inaccuracies may result in additional fees for product reworks.
2. Liability:
- Liability is limited to the lesser of direct labor and material costs of the damaged product or up to two times the processing charges.
- Compensation is provided as a credit for future processing unless otherwise agreed upon in writing before job processing.
-Pricing is structured based on this limited liability policy. Liability exceeding this limit is assumed by VMF only when agreed upon in writing, potentially incurring higher service charges.
3. Acceptance of Processed Materials:
- Processed parts and materials are deemed accepted if no notification of damages, shortages, or discrepancies is received within (5) business days after receipt.
- Notification of rejected parts requiring resurfacing must be received within (5) business days and should be returned in the completed condition; any additional machining, processing, or assembly by any party negates VMF's liability. Failure to notify VMF within this timeframe may result in additional processing fees for the customer.
4. Unsatisfactory Results:
- Should the outcomes of the material finishing operation(s) be unsatisfactory due to metal imperfections, alterations in material grade or composition, manufacturing and/or fabrication imperfections, usage outside the reasonable design parameters for plating or other material finishing operations, damages during transport, natural accidents, and analogous uncontrollable variables, the customer is obligated to remit the contracted amount for the completed finishing operation(s). It is important to note that damages suffered during transit are not the liability of VMF and should be disputed directly with the shipping company.
5. Minimum Rack Fees:
- Minimum rack fees at anodizing facilities cover basic operational costs for small jobs, ensuring efficient resource utilization and maintaining high-quality services.
6. Environmental Surcharge:
- A 10% environmental surcharge will be added to all invoices for the safe handling, processing, and disposal of hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining safety standards.
7. 2000 Series Aluminum Alloys, Mic 6 Tooling Plate, and Die Cast Aluminum:
- Due to the presence of impurities, microstructure variations, and the heightened risk of damage from differential heating in higher copper aluminum alloys, these materials will undergo Hardcoated Anodizing (TY III) on a best-effort basis only. VMF explicitly states that it assumes no liability for any damages to parts during processing under these specific conditions.
The provisions herein constitute the entire agreement between the parties. Any changes, alterations, waivers, or modifications of the job performed, terms of sale, or any other matter outlined herein must be in writing and signed by a duly authorized representative of VMF. These terms and conditions shall apply to this and all future orders or agreements for the processing of any materials
